RELEASE DAY + BOOK REVIEW: "Girl Crush" by TL Travis

Girl Crush is an erotic female romance novella that brings to light that one time…
The one time you found yourself questioning your so-called sexuality, potentially risking your friendship. What if the feelings aren’t reciprocated?
Confusion and pain brings them closer together, feeding from one another’s strengths and thrusting them into each other’s arms.
Are the risks of their new-found love worth the result?
This novella caters to adults over 18 as it does contain a high level of consensual MF (1 scene) and FF sexual encounters.

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Okay, there's a lot going on in this book and I am going to pace my thoughts to get everything straight. Well, maybe straight wasn't the right word to use! Girl Crush follows a woman named Liz and her late-in-life realization that she might not be straight, despite being married to her husband for a few years now.
I want to talk about Liz because I read a LOT of books, and she really was a character I could personally relate to. I came out as bi very early in life, but aside from that she and I are a lot alike. It was great seeing a romance story where the female lead didn't depend on a happy man and a bunch of kids for her life to be complete. Actually, that's the opposite of what Liz wants. This book shows that you can be happy and fulfilled without the "white picket fence and two-point-five kids".
Unlike most short erotic fiction, this packed a huge issue into its 61 pages: spousal abuse. Gem, the love interest, is in an abusive relationship with HER husband. The narrative, while being very quick, dealt with this very real and very harsh situation with eloquence and honesty. It was very well-written, and I applaud Travis for that.
The sex is, well, it's hot! But for me, the sex was just an added bonus to an already great story. Read this book: it should be a favorite for all women. Yes, I will mention I saw some typos but it was nothing that detracted from the story at all.

5/5--sweet, sexy, excellent.
